Elephant riding, tsunami warning, and more! The two teams from Peter Hagen and Einhausen have experienced a lot in the two weeks in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
The stay in Sri Lanka with the diverse cultural program was crowned by the solemnity already on the third day to the Buddhist New Year. Young and old took thrilled with the numerous games. Visit the capital Colombo, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela, the famous tooth temple in Kandy and Dambulla Cave Temple are brought closer to the players and their families land and people.
Sporty both teams have two games in a disputed Marawila and one in Colombo, Sri Lanka against the national team of Sri Lanka. At times it came to the game against the national team of the Maldives, who played in May 2011 as part of the Germany tour in Einhausen and Peter Hagen. With home advantage in the back, especially in view of the Maldives temperatures- the team was able to win against both teams.
In addition to the games of the Maldivian Table Tennis Association has done to the two German teams to do everything for an unforgettable stay in the island paradise. The short-term evacuation of the island Kuda Bandos after the earthquake off Indonesia and the ensuing tsunami warning for the Indian Ocean last Wednesday did not detract from the great atmosphere.
We hope that it has all visitors like and would like to thank this opportunity to all those who have contributed to this great two weeks. At the same time we would like to thank the four German clubs from Bonsweiher, Fronhausen, Lünen and Hoesbach, at the same time the first team of Sri Lanka had to visit in Germany. Thank you and have fun at the pictures !!
