Swimming lessons

A major problem for Sri Lanka is the high proportion of non-swimmers. This is problematic for the island mainly because many people earn their living by fishing. Was strengthened by the addition of water dieAngst before the December 2004 tsunami, which confirmed a study carried out in March.

The goal of AGSEP is to get as many kids u. Young as possible to take this fear and teach them how to swim. So the focus is on training of swimming teachers. Thus AGSEP are its expertise to the teachers on. As a basis for these courses is a book for the training of swimming teachers, which was approved by the qualified sports teacher Nadine Kuhn (ex. C squad German swimming Taffe) written and translated her internship at AGSEP into English.
The weekend seminars are held in the nearby sports school Nattandiya, which has one of the few 25m swimming pool Sri Lanka. It is given to the Sri Lankan teachers both a theoretical and practical introduction. This is particularly important because in Sri Lanka no separate university education for physical education teachers will be offered. To take advantage of the capabilities of the new 25m lap pool, is given next weekend seminars, free swimming lessons for children. These meet twice a week, students from area schools in the sports school. Two swimming coaches teach their children at the basic techniques of breaststroke. Playful, yet goal-oriented, children should lose the fear of water and can swim after 16 hours of instruction.
